Transparent Process
Every job walks through four stages. Here's what happens at each one — no vague line items, no surprises on billing day.
We dispatch an ISA-certified arborist — not a sales rep — to assess the tree in person. They mark the work scope with chalk, photograph the site, and produce a written estimate the same day. No pressure, no upsell.

Step 01
Free Assessment
Most NYC tree jobs require NYC Parks Department approval and sometimes a DOB permit for sidewalk tree work. We file everything. If the job needs a crane or street closure, we coordinate with DOT. You sign one form. We do the rest.

Step 02
Permits & Logistics
Our fleet runs from compact stump grinders that fit through a standard brownstone gate to a 120-ft aerial lift for canopy work on wide avenues. Every climber is OSHA-30 certified. Rigging is calculated, not improvised.

Step 03
Crew & Equipment
Every contract includes a cleanup guarantee. Wood is chipped or hauled. Stumps are ground flush. Sawdust is blown from the patio. We do a final walk-through with the property owner before the crew leaves the block.

Case Studies

Park Slope, Brooklyn
The Challenge
An 80-ft Norway maple split at the crotch after a nor'easter, dropping a 40-ft limb over the neighboring brownstone's fence line. DOB violation filed by the property manager next door.
What We Did
Crew dispatched within 3 hours. Street closure coordinated with DOT. Tree removed in two days, DOB violation cleared, fence repaired by partner contractor.

Astoria, Queens
The Challenge
A co-op board in Astoria needed 11 stumps removed from a shared courtyard — 9 of them within 18 inches of the building foundation. Compact access only through a 32-inch gate.
What We Did
Compact stump grinder fit through the gate. All 11 stumps ground flush to grade in one day. Foundation clearance verified, no root damage.

Morningside Heights, Manhattan
The Challenge
A 120-year-old white oak in a co-op courtyard showed codominant stems splitting under its own weight. The co-op board needed to save the tree without removing the bluestone patio beneath it.
What We Did
Installed high-strength cabling system, removed dead wood, crown-thinned to reduce wind load. Tree stabilized. Patio untouched. NYC Parks permit filed and closed.
Common Questions
Permits, pricing, access, insurance — the questions every NYC homeowner and property manager asks before hiring a tree crew.
It depends on the tree. Street trees (those in the sidewalk tree pit) always require a NYC Parks Department permit, and we file that for you. Private property trees over 6 inches in diameter also require a permit in most cases. We assess permit requirements during the free site visit and handle all filings — you never have to call Parks or DOB yourself.
